More Than Fitness

Writer's picture: BeeBee

I always knew that this journey of mine would involve more than just counting calories and working out. I’ve been reading more, trying different activities and am really finding out a lot about myself in the process. One day, I started to write a post about something I learned in a book I finished. Another day, I wanted to write a post about a new breathing technique that I thought folks should give a try. I didn’t write either because I thought to myself, “Man, this blog is going to seem all over the place if I write about all these different things.” Then I had the biggest “DUH!” moment known to man.

If this is what I’m learning on my journey…and this blog is supposed to be like a journal of mine…why would I not? From that question alone, I could spin off into many different topics such as self sabotage, outsider influence and so on but I go stick with fitness. As I continue on this journey, I will start to write more posts that reflect the various info/insights/influences I’m finding on the way to my fitness goals. A good book that gets you mentally aligned can do more for you than a barebell back squat with bad form.

Also, I really underestimated how much fitness runs parallel to so many other topics. Take dating for example. A whole other struggle that I’ve somehow decided now would be a good time to undertake. I find myself tapping into the same part of my fitness motivation very often. “Just keep going.” “It’ll be worth it in the end.” “Don’t give up just yet.” Seriously though! I took a good amount of notes from the dating book I read and applied it to fitness and viola - works all the same!

So just a heads up in case you start seeing book reviews and such :)
